Ace Austin has officially joined Bullet Club! The reigning Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion was revealed as the newest member of the long-running stable at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s most recent Best Of The Super Juniors event, which went down at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan on June 3.
Austin made his way to the ring and helped Bullet Club’s El Phantasmo, Chase Owens, & Bad Luck Fale defeat Aaron Henare, Great-O-Khan, and Jeff Cobb of the United Empire in a trios tag team match. Austin celebrated with Bullet Club and pulled out one of his trademark playing cards … which featured the Bullet club logo. Austin threw up the Too Sweet hand gesture with his new stablemates and made his induction official.
Ace Austin is the second member of the Impact Wrestling roster to join Bullet Club in the past ten months. Chris Bey, a former X-Division Champion who debuted for Impact in November 2018, became a fully-fledged member of Bullet Club last August.
“I want to keep growing. I don’t think I’m the best in the world, but right now, I’m the best version of myself. I have the ability to be better tomorrow, and then better than that the day after. Over time, I want people to think of Chris Bey when they think of wrestling,” the 26-year-old told Sport Illustatrated’s Justin Barraso back in December 2020.
In a separate interview with Ross Tweddell of Cultaholic Wrestling, Bey was asked which wrestlers he would add to the ranks of Bullet Club if he were given an opportunity to do so. Without giving it much thought, he named his Impact Wrestling colleague Tasha Steelz.
“We need the flavor and finesse combination, and Tasha Steelz is one of the absolute best out there right now. And we need that female talent in the Bullet Club,” Bey said.
