BOONE, N.C.- Kent State wrestling takes another road trip this weekend, heading to the Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State. The event will take place Saturday, November 12 and start at 9:00 a.m. at Varsity Gym.
Kent State will be one of eight schools sending wrestlers to the event. The other seven are Appalachian State, Stanford, Virginia, Air Force, Edinboro, Gardner-Webb and Ohio. The Flashes are no stranger to the event, having participated in the event each of the last four seasons.
More Flashes will be making their debuts this weekend, as Blake Schaffer, Eli Ashcroft, Matt Ellis and Mitchell Broskie will wrestle for the first time in their collegiate careers.
Also going to the event will be several Flashes who have been ranked highly within their weight class in the MAC. Jake Ferri, Louis Newell, Kody Komara and Tyler Bates all have been ranked within the top five in the MAC at their respective weights. Additionally, after his win at 165 lbs at the Clarion Open, Enrique Munguia is ranked 6th in the MAC in his weight class.

The road trip continues for the Flashes after this weekend, as they will travel to Annapolis, Maryland to participate in the Navy Classic on Saturday, November 19.
