November 17, 1946 – February 27, 2022
John Thurman Priddy, 75, of Faber, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born on November 17, 1946, in Terrell, Texas, the son of the late Carroll Priddy and Virginia Moore Priddy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bian June Priddy on January 8, 2022; five sisters-in-law, Estelle Phillips, Ione Phillips, Shirley Phillips Carter, Wylema Phillips, and Gail Roberts; and three brothers-in-law, Robert Austin Phillips, Thomas “T.W.” Phillips, and James “Jim” Edward Phillips.
John retired from The University of Virginia Maintenance Department, a loyal and faithful member of Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber, he was a loving, caring, and devoted husband. Dedicated to his favorite pastime of watching WWF Wrestling and always presented himself in a laughing and friendly manner and enjoyed any and all visitors always showing an open and friendly personality. A very appreciative individual and always very respectful to others.
He is survived by his nephew, James M. Carter and wife, Amy, of Montross and sister-in-law, Cindy Phillips Ferguson and husband, Bill, of Amherst.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of The Laurels of Charlottesville for their care and to all of John’s friends and acquaintances made over his stay there.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber with Pastor Hillary Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and suggests that memorial contributions be made in John’s memory to Rock Spring United Methodist Church, 1655 Rock Spring Road, Faber, VA 22938.
