WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has admitted that he purposely never washed a notorious prop he used during his WWE career to rib his opponents.
Back at Judgment Day in May 2002, Kurt Angle had his hands full with fellow Hall of Famer Edge in a rare – by WWE standards – hair vs. hair match.
Edge managed to get the win on the night, going on to embarrass Angle by shaving his head for all the world to see. However, Kurt Angle wasn’t ready to let the world see his bald head on a weekly basis and took to wearing an incredibly ill-fitting wig during his matches.
One of the most famous occasions Angle strapped the wig to his head was one month later at King of The Ring when he defeated The Immortal Hulk Hogan by submission.
Now speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medallist has admitted to never washing the wig, instead preferring to disgust his opponents with it:
“Oh, we put that thing to rest, it smelled so badly. I never washed that thing, I never washed it. Whenever I wrestled somebody they would say ‘Angle wash that damn wig.’ And I wouldn’t on purpose.”
