Lewisburg had five players reach double figures as Lewisburg defeated Jersey Shore, 72-60, in the District 4 Class AAAA quarterfinals on Friday night at Lewisburg.
With the win, the Green Dragons advance to play Mifflinburg in the district semifinals at a time and place to be determined.
Joey Martin scored 17 points to lead the Green Dragons while Jake Hernandez scored 13. Lewisburg also received 10 points each from Forrest Zelechoski, Cam Michaels and Jack Blough.
Jersey Shore’s Cayden Hess (24 points) and Damian Mcalister (21) combined for 45 points.
The Bulldogs led by one after the first quarter, but Lewisburg would outscore Jersey Shore by 10 in the second to take a halftime lead.
• In college wrestling, Lycoming junior 157-pounder Hunter O’Connor, a Jersey Shore graduate, won two matches during the opening day, but were eliminated in the placement round at the NCAA Southeast Regional tournament.
