BLOOMINGTON, IN – The Maryland wrestling team dropped a 26-12 decision to the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday night inside Wilkinson Hall. The Terps (5-6, 0-2 Big Ten) won three matches on the night, with 133-pounder King Sandoval, 174-pounder Dom Solis, and No. 12 184-pounder Kyle Cochran picking up victories.
Cochran continued his amazing season as he knocked off No. 8 DJ Washington in a thrilling 3-2 decision. It’s his fourth-ranked win of the season and his 15th victory in his last 16 bouts.
Sandoval scored the first points of the match with a pin over Noah Gochberg in 1:01. It’s his eighth first-period pin, fourth in the last five bouts, and 11th total.
Connor Decker made his Big Ten dual debut less than one week after making his dual debut against No.21 Oklahoma on Saturday, Jan. 15 at the 2022 Virginia Duals. He earned a first-period takedown and entered the final period tied, but ultimately fell by 5-2 decision.
