Four Naga wrestlers along with other five officials of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) today left for Osh, Kyrgyzstan for United World Wrestling (UWW) Asian Belt Wrestling & Kazakh Kuresi Championship 2022. The event is scheduled for May 21 to 23.
Four Naga wrestlers Venuzo Dawhuo, Keduovilie Zumu, Er Mhasilhusie Nagi and Nlumrai Hegwang are among the nine wrestlers of Team India for the championship. NWA President Dr Hiabe Zeliang and General Secretary, Vilekho Bio will be the team coaches and NWA Treasurer Vezuhu Keyho as team manager.
Nagaland team is jointly sponsored by Government of Nagaland and NWA. NWA Advisor Neivikuolie Nicholas Khatsu and Khrievotuo Sekhose are also part of the team, who will attend referee clinic and training scheduled for May 20 and 21, sponsored by Nagaland Olympic Association.
Earlier, in a brief programme held here before their departure, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK), Senior Pastor Rev Dr Kevekhalo Lasuh invoked God’s blessing for the team.
