PITTSBURGH – Natalia Pawlak from gymnastics and Holden Heller from wrestling have been named PNC Achievers of the Week after a couple of stellar performances on the road.
Freshman Natalia Pawlak set a new personal record with a score of 9.925 – earning the first-place title overall on bars Saturday night at the Tri-meet against NC State and George Washington at the Reynolds Coliseum. On the last rotation of the night, Pawlak led the event, helping the team score a 49.000 overall. Pawlak has posted a score of at least 9.800 in all three of her appearances on bars this season.
Redshirt senior Holden Heller delivered a ranked win at 165 pounds on Saturday, taking down Virginia’s No. 15 Justin McCoy in the second bout of the day, sparking the Panthers to a 25-6 victory at Virginia. It was Heller’s highest ranked win of the season and his first Top 20 win as a Panther. His strong showing at 165 put the Panthers in front, 6-0, in what would become a 25-6 rout to begin ACC play.
